This is the story of Hiroyuki Mizuguchi, a Japanese gentleman who grew up and studied in the Philippines and survived the Pacific war under the Japanese flag in Luzon with unusual experiences. He wrote the book in order to share that life, as well as spread messages of peace through example. The book is written in an engaging style that will appeal to readers of all ages. Through his novel, students will get a unique picture of World War II; the struggles of families in the war torn city and countryside, and the severed friendships between Filipinos and Japanese. The author, aged 93, has lived in Davao City for the past 50 years.
