This book is the result of a quest for recovering Philippine identities forged with a melting pot of Spanish materials. Adelina Gurrea was born in the Philippines of Spanish parents; later, at the age of 25 years, she had to move to Spain with her mother. From both places she contributed to Philippine writing. This bilingual anthology bridges the readers to and from the many shores of this world. It celebrates the author's original texts and facilitates access to them through its translation into English.
Beatriz Álvarez Tardío holds a Ph.D. in Philippine Literature in Spanish with the University of the Philippines, and M.A. in Gender Studies from Complutense University in Madrid (Spain). Since 1998 she has studied and worked for the recovery of Philippine Literature in Spanish.
