The extrajudicial killings perpetuated by authorities in the Philippines especially in the past four years have been so horrific that these cannot fail to catch international attention. And indeed all those who came across the news were incredulous that such form of murderous abuse common during the decades of fascist dictators are back with us, but in these days of globalization and war on terrorism such killings are indeed abetted and promoted.
IBON published two books in 2005 and in 2006 documenting the extra judicial killings as well as other human rights abuses in the country.
This is the third in the series of documentation books on the gross human rights abuses currently escalating in the Philippines as a result of the US orchestrated war on terrorism. The third book gives due focus on abductions and involuntary or enforced disappearances, which have recently been occurring in an alarming rate. It also documents the unjust arrest and detention of CPP Founding Chairman Prof. Jose Maria Sison.
