Ang katipunang ito'y nilikha nuong 1940-43, panahon ng digmaan. Ang mga akda't pag-aaral ay nasasakop ang larangan ng kasaysayan at ng ating panitikan. Dito natin matutunghayan ang mga ambag ni Teodoro A. Agoncillo sa ating kultura at sa paghuhubog ng ating kamalayan bilang Pilipino.

Pinagpipitaganang mananalaysay, makata, kuwentista, patnugot at propesor, si Teodoro Andal Agoncillo ay isinilang sa Lemery, Batangas, Nobyembre 9, 1912. Nagkamit ng Batsilyer sa Pilosopiya, 1934, at nagdalubhasa sa sining, 1939, University of the Philippines. Pinagkalooban ng Doctor of Letters, honoris causa, ng Central Philippines University, 1969; katulong sa Tekniko, Institute of National Language, 1937-41; Tagapangulo, Department of History, 1963-1969; Rafael Palma Professor of Philippine History, 1973-76, at University Professor, 1976-77, U.P.; Akademista, National Academy of Science and Technology, 1980; at kagawad, National Historical Commission, 1967-85.
