This book tells the story of the Filipino Revolution in its full compass. The emergence of the young nation, who's people identified Filipinas against the regiments and brigades of a European army-- the latter reenforced with 45,000 troops from Spain. The central revolutionary governments, ultimately organized in January 1899 as the first constitutional democratic republic in Asia. A prolific scholar, Corpuz was Secretary of the Department of Education and is Professor Emeritus of Economic History at the UP School of Economics. He was President of the UP from 1975-1979.
