Datuin's work is cutting edge and creative. It is an exploration of natures and contexts of women's art in the 19th century to the present. Datuin artistically puts the 19th and early 20th century artists in touch with today's young artsts.

Datuin is assistant professor at the Dept of Art Studies, CAL, Universityof the Philippines. A feminist activist and advocate of Southeast Asian studies and women's art, Datuin curated and organized a series of exhibition-conferences on women artists in Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, and the Philippines.
