Shown at the Life Theater 10-19 May 1955, this LVN classic is a warm, poignant story of the supreme sacrifice of a man for his loved ones. The plot focuses on the kind of domestic problem with which we are all familiar: how will we earn enough money to make ends meet?
Roberto (Rogelio dela Rosa), with his wife Rosa (Emma Alegre) and children (Cynthia Gomez and Ike Jarlego, Jr.)
A happy couple once – Roberto
and Rosa.
Though a scion of a wealthy family, Roberto
inherits nothing when he married Rosa, thus ending up as a hired
help in a factory of explosives.
Roberto is given up for
dead in an explosion in the factory.

Rosa accepts the P10,000
death benefits and uses it to put up a restaurant.
A truly memorable movie, with five FAMAS trophies: Best Picture, Original Work (Story), Editing, Sound, and Actor (De La Rosa); 1956 Asian Film Festival (Hongkong): Best Director and Actor (De La Rosa).
