PAROLA. Shown at the Dalisay theater, 20-27 February 1949 [with special personal appearance of the stars on the first day of exhibition], PAROLA is a thriller set against the bleak loneliness of a solitary lighthouse.
To ease the pain and hatred caused by his wifes infidelity, Pekto (Gil de Leon) abandons city life and settles in an isolated island, together with his daughters Lilian and Estrella (Norma Blancaflor & Priscilla Cellona) and sister Lalia (Naty Bernardo).
Juan Moreno/Juaning Marcelino (Jaime de la Rosa)
is sentenced for murder.
Another man, Juan Moreno (Jaime de la Rosa), sentenced for murder and believed to have been dead along with other prisoners found for jail in a shipwreck, ends up on the island where Pekto and the rest of his family has isolated themselves.
Soon, Juan and Lilian
fall in love with each other.

Meanwhile,
Rolando (Jaime Castellvi), the Captain of the ship that delivers
supplies to the family, and an ardent suitor of Lilian for that
matter, finds out Juans true identity and alerts the police.
Hence, the subsequent arrest.

After a short period of time, Juans case has been reopened. With the presentation of new evidence supporting his innocence, he is acquitted.
Meanwhile, Pekto and his family come back to the city hoping to live a normal life. Juan and Lilian are eventually reconciled.
