PRINSIPE DIOMEDES AT ANG MAHIWAGANG GITARA took the country by storm with gales of laughter and bursts of songs and dances when it was shown 23 February 1961 at the Dalisay Theater. This engaging romance-fantasy capitalized on Diomedes Maturans success as Grand Champion of a national singing contest; here he parlays a prince abandoned by his scheming brother in a forest in their quest for a white deer that will cure their ailing father.
Prinsipe Diomedes and Florenda (Marita Zobel), the girl who, along with her dwarf-friends, helped him retrieve from a giant the magic guitar given to him earlier by a fairy as a reward for his good deed.
With the help of the magic guitar,
peace and order is restored in the kingdom. Thereafter, Prinsipe
Diomedes and Florenda lived happily.
