Tagalog Movie
Directed by Manuel Silos
Liberation 1945!
A comedy of errors where two military officers, one an American (Art Cantrell), the other a Filipino (Rogelio dela Rosa) vie for the love of a pretty provincial girl (Norma Blancaflor). Believing that her boyfriend has been killed in the war, Norma becomes receptive to being courted by the American, and she becomes the object of gossip. Filipinas who went around with American G.I.s were considered 'loose' or hanggang piyer lamang. The film also shows Manila right after the war's end, a lar ge part in ruins.
"That's no way to treat a lady."
Art Cantrell, Norma Blancaflor, Rogelio dela Rosa
"Delata galing
sa mga 'Markano'"
Significant comic spice is injected by Monang Carvajal who is enthralled by anything American, and Jose Cris Soto, a popular comic actor during his time.
