Tagalog Movie
Written and Directed by F.H. Constantino, based on a DZBC Radio Serial
Nida Blanca and Nestor de Villa
Waray-Waray was one of the most popular films starring the top movie loveteam of the 1950s, Nida Blanca and Nestor de Villa. Nida comes to Manila as a stowaway and ends up as a cook in a wealthy rich old couple's residence. The elderly husband, who also happens to be Nestor's employer, is infatuated by the young feisty probinsiyana to the dismay of the old man's haughty wife.
"Babae ba 'yan?"
Stowaway!
The tomboyish Nida gets into a lot of scrapes, but being a 'waray', she never backs down, not even from a boxing match.

The song Waray-Waray has become one of our most enduring classics, composed by Juan Silos Jr, with lyrics by National Artist Levi Celerio.
