Feeling guilty of how she feels about Carding (TJ Trinidad), Luisa (Kristine Hermosa) decides to tell her family about their relationship.
Despite their silence, Menang (Cherie Gil) catches them together.
Appalled by her son's relationship, Menang demeans Luisa causing Idad (Rio Locsin) to defend her daughter.
This starts the conflict between Idad and Menang.
Meanwhile, Luisa tries to explain her situation with Carding as she feels that her family is already getting upset.
She faces Carding and tells him that his intention will not prosper.
Persistent as Carding, he continues to follow Luisa around.
To avoid trouble, Idad sends Luisa away.
It did not take long before Carding finds out where Luisa is staying and urges her to elope.
Though separation is hard for both of them, Luisa obeys her family's request to finally end everything with Carding.
Just before she bids farewell to Carding, a storm hits the town and forces the two to seek shelter in a cave.
As the two returns home, Idad is so devastated and so furious that she tells Luisa to leave.
Despite their explanation, Luisa's left with no reason to stay.
Menang on the other hand, is also mad about what happened to her son and Luisa.
Left with no choice, as David (Lito Pimentel) reminds her of her candidacy and her only chance for victory, Menang agrees to ask her son, Carding to marry Luisa despite their differences.
